GOBI DESERT

Aged 25, Faraz spent two months leading a herd of Bactrian camels 1,600km across the Gobi Desert. Navigating from well to well with the aid of Soviet-era maps, he faced stampedes, sandstorms and twisters, gaining along the way a fascinating insight into the lives of desert nomads in one of the harshest and most fragile environments on Earth.
